CURRICULUM

The MSc Programme is offered on an annual basis and commences at the beginning of the winter semester of each academic year.

The curriculum is delivered over four academic semesters. In the first semester, students take a series of core and elective courses common to all three specialisations, designed to provide a solid foundation in advanced nursing knowledge, scientific inquiry, and research methodology.

From the second semester onward, the curriculum includes compulsory and elective courses aligned with the specific educational objectives and professional competencies of each specialisation. Detailed information regarding course content, learning outcomes, and assessment methods is available in the Study Guide, published on the official MSc Programme website.

The successful completion of the Programme requires the accumulation of one hundred and twenty (120) European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits. Throughout their studies, postgraduate students are expected to participate actively in coursework, complete all assessment requirements, engage in research activities, contribute to the preparation of scientific papers, and fulfil the requirements of the Master’s Dissertation.

The Master’s Dissertation is conducted during the fourth semester and corresponds to twenty (20) ECTS credits. It provides students with the opportunity to undertake independent research within their chosen field of specialisation and to demonstrate their ability to apply scientific methods in the investigation of contemporary healthcare issues.

A compulsory Clinical Placement is integrated into the Programme to facilitate the development of advanced clinical competencies and professional skills. The placement is undertaken in accredited healthcare settings relevant to each specialisation under the guidance of a faculty academic supervisor. It extends over five (5) weeks, carries ten (10) ECTS credits, and constitutes a mandatory component of the curriculum.

Teaching and learning activities are delivered either through face-to-face instruction or by means of distance learning technologies, in accordance with the applicable legislative and institutional framework
